Is it too early to be optimistic?

I know its only been 7 games, but the Orioles are playing competitive baseball and I like it. Two of our 3 losses this season were extra innings heart breakers to the Yankees. Errors played an important roll in the outcome of those games. We could just as easily be 6-1 right. As it is 4-3, and currently in sole possession of first place in the AL East. Just to break it down a little: they are 10th in the MLB in batting, tied for 1st in HR's and 6th in all of baseball in pitching. If we keep that up we are going to win alot of games and stay competitive all season. As I say this, (breathes deeply) Brian Matusz pitches today. He didnt look good at all his first start, falling behind in the count often. Hopefully he regains his composure and the O's continue there hot start.

Hockey Justice

This is just a part of what makes hockey great. We settle it on the ice. You mess with the stars you pay the price. Ovie throws his weight around alot, and I know theres alot of guys who want a piece of him, but they know if they go that route...the Goons come out. It would be barbaric and appaling if it took place in any other sport, but its hockey, its how its played, its ok. Now Alfedson goes out with a cheap shot, if he doesnt come back look for this series to get uglier. As far as the Caps are concerned I think Semin is being rough housed a little too much, I hope Hunter addresses that game 3. Did I mention how much I LOVE playoff hockey!
